I forgot to tell but the 6 graders translate from English to Spanish a recipe: Tortilla Soup that we make on Tuesday 25th. The kids loved and the big pot ws gone very soon.

HOLA CHICOS Y CHICAS: Grade 8: Study the verbs: ir, salir y ver (to go, to leave and to see) for Monday 31, I will ask u about it and u will have to go to the board and make ur own sentence without my help. We will continue with Oaxaca chapter where we talk about shopping, make purchases, talk about giving gifts and regatear “bargain” Don’t forget the vocabulary.

Grade 7: Study the verbs: Tener, Ir y Hacer (to have, to go, to make, to do)

for Monday 31, u need to write 2 sentences of each, please use other subject pronoun, than “yo”

Grade 6: U guys are doing excellent, we r almost finishing the Workbook # 3 and immediately we will start with En Espanol Book, Congratulations to all of u for ur great effort. We r studing the Prepositions of Location and the use of the question word Donde? Where?, places of the community and where u can buy things.

Grade 5: U worked very hard guys, all of u did a great test, I’m very happy. We still has to work with the questions and answers, how to make sentences and the transition when u ask “tu or Usted” and has to be answer with “Yo”, “Ustedes” has to be answer with “nosotros”

Grade 4: we r working with the Clock “El Reloj”, the hours and how to say the time in Espanol.

Grade 2/3: La ropa “Clothing” kids are making their own bingo call “”La Ropa”, we r going to do a Fashion Parade in Spanish and their own wardrobe.Cool!!

Grade K/1: It’s amazing how good they r remembering vocabulary, they even now How to ask about going to the bathroom, what they have to do after, including flashing the toilet, washing their hands and leave the door closed.

Hola chiquitos y chiquitas, como estan?

K-1 working on vocabulary and small sentences. Small conversations between they, when they can say their name, their age, and how are they. recognition of the numbers until 30. Days of the week.

2-3 Days of the week : ayer, hoy y manana, anteayer, pasado manana and fin de semana, months of the year: Cuando es tu cumpleanos? (when is your birthday?), pronouns Tu and Usted, commands, song: Juguemos en el bosque, mientras que el lobo esta…(Lets play in the forest..while the wolf is……) 

4 Through a son and a game they learn the uses of -ando and iendo: despertando, lavando, peinando, poniendo…. Adjectives, opposites and vocabulary. Review previous lessons.

Hola chicos y chicas, listos para Winter Break, Feliz Navidad and all ….?

still one more week :-)

Grade 5:We will finish the  Workbook #1 and review previous concepts, finish with The Negatives, answer questions with negatives.

Grade 6: Due date for the Project “yo”,  Comparisons: mas+adjective+que;

another ways to compare two people or things;compare things that are equal.

We are finishing the Workbook # 3 and ready to start “En Espanol! text book”

Grade 7: Advanced: Stem changing verbs: u~ue; e~ie; homework: create cards for verbs: jugar, empezar, volar, pensar,entender,merendar,and perder.

Los deportes: talk about sports, say what you know, make comparisons, describe the weather, talk on the phone, say what just happened and what is happening.

Beginners:  Using the verb TENER to express: Hunger and thirst, hot and cold. The verbal expression HAY, how it’s use; La Curiosidad: The curiosity, use of the preposition “a”. When “a” is followed by the definite article “el”, they combine to form the contraction “al”

Grade 8: Study vocabulary regarding :D irections, quiz on Wednesday 15,  review: Identify places, give addresses, chose transportation, request directions, give instructions, Verb: Decir=to say, use prepositions of location. Use regular affirmative “tu” commands.

Grade 8: Don’t forget to bring your Project “Menu and Restaurant in Spanish”

We have a new project” Make a cartoon in Spanish using Commands : camina,corre,baila,escucha,etc. The draft is due on Monday 6ht, Final product: Monday 13th.Classwork: Book page 99 Activity 17 and 18, Group work: Activity 19, New vocabulary: Page 100. Classwork: Using activity 21 as an example, write a similar paragraph with your address. “r” pronunciation, it’s different than “rr”, you will learn it.

Lecture: Benito Juarez, La Moneda.

Grade 7: All class work: I will teach them the Commands and they will have to create a RAP using that vocabulary and some help from the dictionary.

Beginners: HAY= There is, there are, Is there? Are there?: Work Book: Pages 12 ~ 15 in class, homework: Page 16 and 17.

Advances: Acting out: The oldest man in the World, pronunciation.

Text Book Page 64: Los deportes, vocabulary. Grammar: Stem changing Verbs in the present. Verbs that has irregular “yo” form. Phrases for making Comparisons.

Grade 6: Los Deportes, workbook page 40, verbo “Jugar”, vocabulary, tell which sport the following people are playing, vocabulary to Practice Sports.

Soon we will start using the Text Book, They are ready!!!!!!

Grade 5: We have to continue with the exercises I taught the last week, the students need reinforce, still I see some doubts in them, before I advance, I prefer to be sure they all understand the subject. Using the verbs create questions and answers, and giving the answers they have to create the questions. Other is How to interact the Subject Pronouns example: How “tu” and “usted” answer “yo”, or “Ustedes” answer “nosotros”. After that we will countinue with the book, so far we almost finish it and will start the number 2 after the winter break.
